About Editions

Thomas Kinkade artwork comes in a variety of editions. Descriptions of each edition are provided below.
SN: The Standard Numbered Canvas is individually hand-highlighted and numbered with the designation of S/N in the numbering process.
AP: The Artist Proof Canvas is issued in a small edition. Artist Proofs are individually hand-highlighted and are designated with the letters A/P during the numbering process.
AN: Hand-highlighted and numbered, each Atelier National canvas is designated with the letters A/N. Beginning in January 2003, the monumental size was designated as Atelier National.
EP: The Examination Proof is a special canvas edition offered as an opportunity for collectors to preview select new releases. The canvases are individually hand-highlighted, have the designation of E/P during the numbering process and have a small edition size.
GP: The Gallery Proof Canvas is individually hand-highlighted and can be distinguished by the unique gold foil Remarque stamped onto the image. Gallery Proofs are designated with letters G/P during the numbering process.
PP: The Publisher Proof Canvas is a very small edition available at the discretion of the Publisher. Hand-highlighted and numbered, they are designated PP during the numbering process.

The race is off! In the foreground, 43 mighty race cars thunder by as "The King" himself, Richard Petty, waves the green flag for the start of the 50th Running of the DAYTONA 500®. As I paint furiously, the electricity and spectacle of the moment is almost overwhelming. In my Studio Masterwork release of the "Great American Race" I intend to capture the power of the starting moment, while honoring this one-of-a-kind NASCAR® event. I have always believed that a painting can capture the pageantry and energy of historic events like no other medium, and my goal as I painted NASCAR® THUNDER The 50th Running of the DAYTONA 500® was to document this classic event for race fans everywhere.
