Charity Affiliations

Early in his career Thomas Kinkade realized the impact his artwork could make when Rotary International asked for his help in raising funds for their various charities. Thom painted The Rotary Meeting, with all proceeds of the sales going to the Rotary Club. This print is still being sold today and has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the many community charities that Rotary International supports.

When Thom and his family visited Guatemala in 1999, they saw first-hand the poverty and hardships that thousands of families were enduring. In response, Thom, Nanette, and their loyal Thomas Kinkade Gallery owners partnered with World Vision. Thom painted Bridge of Faith, and the Thomas Kinkade network sold Open Edition prints, raising enough money to support 60,000 children and to build a library and medical center in Guatemala.

When America faced some of the biggest struggles in its history, Thom stepped forward to help Americans who were suffering. After the tragedy of 9/11, he painted The Light of Freedom and The Season of Giving.  The proceeds from these two pieces were donated to the Salvation Army’s Ground Zero Relief Fund. In total Thom, raised $2 Million for the victims of the September 11th tragedy with the sales of these paintings.

Thom went on to help the families affected by Hurricane Katrina in a similar way.  In 2005, he was appointed to be an Ambassador of Light for the Points of Light Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging Americans more effectively in volunteer service to help solve serious social problems. When Hurricane Katrina affected the residents of the Gulf Coast, Thom raised $600,000 for the families who had lost their homes and loved ones in this tragedy. Over a two year period, Thom raised $1 Million for the Points of Light Foundation and the local community charities it supported.
