Historic Re-Opening of Famed American Artist Thomas Kinkade Studios Original Gallery in Placerville, CA

PLACERVILLE, CA – The original art gallery that helped launch the renowned career of American Artist Thomas Kinkade has re-opened in Placerville. After a brief hiatus, the Thomas Kinkade Hometown Gallery has opened its doors to the collectors at 437 Main Street in historic downtown Placerville, CA. The re-opening celebration includes a live Master Highlighter Event May 28th and 29th, open to the public 10:00 am – 6:00 pm both days. An additional Grand Opening event will be scheduled for the Fall.

Thomas Kinkade grew up in Placerville in the 1960s and 1970s and in 1984 was commissioned to paint original art for the Placerville Public Library. Thomas Kinkade sold prints of his paintings from a card table in a Placerville shopping center, and then in 1990 he teamed up with original Thomas Kinkade Gallery owner George Carpenter, in what was then a gift shop in downtown Placerville. After growing success, Carpenter renamed his retail store the Thomas Kinkade Gallery, which went on to become the inspiration for many successive Thomas Kinkade art galleries.

Upon Carpenter’s retirement, Art Brand Studios (ABS) has taken up the mantle and will continue to offer Thomas Kinkade Studios art in Placerville, CA.

“The Placerville community is thrilled that, once again, their downtown will be home to an art gallery dedicated to Thomas Kinkade and his work. As a hometown hero, visitors associate Placerville with Thomas Kinkade”, remarks Carolyn Keeler, Thomas Kinkade Gallery Director.

  4. I have a beautiful picture taken at Mount Charleston west of Las Vegas. I’d like to send it to you and see if there’s a possibility if one of your artist would consider it for a painting. would like to send you a picture via email. Thx

  5. Is your museum interested in Kinkade EARLY works? These are pieces painted before his “light” style. If you are not, might you poi t me to any museum that is? i would prefer they be sold to a museum versus marketed. I own them having been a close friend in the 1970’s. Thanks for any info. ( all have been authenticated by a CA Kinkade specialty group about 20 years ago).
